Barricaded Man Arrested for Double Homicide

Since the discovery of the bodies of Jerome Clark and Larrisha Williams early Wednesday morning, detectives have been working tirelessly to find the gunman. With the help of several tips from the community, they were able to identify the suspect as Andre M. Watkins DOB 12/10/85.

At 3:39 PM today , police received information that Watkins was in a room at the Bayway Inn, 4400 34th St. S.

Police evacuated the motel , closed 34th St., South in both directions, and brought in the swat team to try to take the suspect into custody safely. After four hours the suspect was arrested without incident to the cheers of a large crowd gathered near the scene.

Andre Watkins is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Jerome Clark DOB 02/08/ 98 and Larrisha Williams DOB 10/07/1993. They were found shot to death in a car in the 1400 block of 34th St. S.

Investigators believe a suspect in the double homicide from early Wednesday morning is in a room at The Bayway Inn.

Police are at the Bayway Inn, 34th Street South, where a man is reportedly barricaded in a room.

34th St. S is closed from 42-46th Ave S in both directions.
