Last night on Thursday, December 30th, at about 9:45 p.m., there was a shooting in the 1400 block of 16th St. South.

The victim, an adult male, was walking in the rear parking lot of the Ana Food Store,1401 16th St. S., when another man approached him. There was an altercation and the man shot the victim.

The victim is being treated at the hospital with critical injuries.

It is early in the investigation, but we have no reason to believe this shooting is related to the shooting on Coquina Key earlier in the day.
