Fatal Shooting Investigation

Reward for Information

The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for information on the death of 47- year- old Qareeb Muhammad.

On December 29, 2021, Muhammad was shot and killed in a vacant lot in the 2100 block of 17th Avenue South. Anyone with information regarding this case, who wishes to remain anonymous is eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.00. The adult male victim has been identified as Qareeb Muhammad (DOB 1/7/1974).

St. Petersburg police are investigating the fatal shooting that occurred today, Dec. 29, in a vacant lot in the 2100 block of 17th Avenue South.

It is early in the investigation. No further information is available at this time.

At 9:33 a.m., police received a call of a shooting in the 2100 block of 17th Avenue South.

Upon arrival, officers found the body of a 47-year-old man lying in a field and confirmed the victim had been shot.

The victim was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was pronounced deceased.
