In an effort to reduce gun violence, the St. Petersburg Police Dept. executed a search warrant for weapons at 900 40th Street South, on Thursday, April 9th, at 12:30 p.m. The police have received 221 calls for service / complaints about this address from December 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. Detectives also observed a great deal of traffic in and out of the house with numerous guns in plain view.

After the search warrant was executed, a 16-year-old drove up to the house driving a stolen vehicle. He was charged with auto theft, possession of ammunition, and violation of probation for prior vehicle theft.
This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are pending.
