Fatal Crash

Unfortunately, Darlene Marie Surprenant (DOB 04/30/1959) succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Around 8:10 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021 a (2019) Ram heavy truck, driven by Michael William Parker (DOB, 08/12/1970), was westbound on Central Avenue when it hit two pedestrians, as they crossed the street in the crosswalk in the 2000 block.

Robert Theodore Surprenant Jr. (DOB 04/08/1960) and Darlene Marie Surpreant (DOB 04/30/1959) were transported to Bayfront Health St Petersburg in critical condition. Parker stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Unfortunately Robert Surprenant was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, but Darlene was still in critical condition at last check. Park was uninjured.

Alcohol was not a factor. The investigation is ongoing.

At 8:10 p.m., a pick up truck traveling west on Central Avenue hit two pedestrians who were crossing Central at 21st Street.

The pedestrians, a man and a woman (adults), were taken to the hospital.

The man died from his injuries and the woman is in critical condition.

The driver stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.

Central Avenue and 21st St. are expected to stay shutdown in all directions for at least two hours for the investigation.
