At 4:35 p.m. a Toyota Camry driven by Lewis Lemuel Mitten, Jr., was northbound on 34th St.S. and turned west onto 18th Avenue S. in front of a southbound motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the Camry, then struck another vehicle and caught fire. The motorcycle driver, Gregg Anthony Johnson Jr was ejected.

Johnson was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries. Mitten was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
