Serious Injury Motorcycle Crash at 20th Avenue South & 49th Street South

Shortly after 7p.m. ,Saturday, September 5, a Mazda four door, driven by Lashawna Rene Young (11/15/1982, St Pete) was southbound in the median lane of 49th Street, attempting to turn left onto 20th Avenue South.

Young, who does not have a driver's license, turned left in front of a 1981 Harley motorcycle that was northbound on 49th Street South.

The Motorcycle driver, a 56 year old man,struck the right front of the Mazda. The Mazda then hit the front of a Mitsubishi that was waiting at a stop sign at 20th Street.

The motorcycle driver was ejected from the motorcycle and transported to Bayfront Health St Petersburg in life threatening condition. He was not wearing a helmet.

No one else was injured.

The investigation is continuing.
