At 1:39 a.m. , Sunday, November 29,a 2014 Toyota Rav4 driven by a St. Petersburg man was turning from 2nd Street North onto 1st Ave North on a green light. A bicyclist, Chad R. Bennett, DOB 02/13/1983, of St. Petersburg, was traveling east on 1st Ave North in the south curb lane. The bicyclist was traveling the wrong way on a one-way, had no lights on his bicycle and it collided with the Toyota in the middle of the intersection.

The bicyclist was transported to Bayfront Health and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The investigation is continuing.
