On Saturday May 2, at 8:20 p.m., a motorcycle operated by Phillip Anderson (DOB 7/30/63, Kenneth City, FL) with passenger, Tricia Best, age 46 (St. Petersburg, FL), was northbound on 34th Street North. A silver sedan, also traveling northbound on 34th Street North, side-swiped the motorcycle causing Anderson to lose control in the 1500 block of 34th Street North.

Both riders were thrown from the motorcycle and were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. Anderson was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Best is in stable condition.

The sedan fled the scene. The investigation is still on going.
