The victim in last night's shooting has been identified as Diontae S. Burr (DOB 12/31/2000).

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and investigators are encouraging anyone with information to call us 727-893-7780 or send an anonymous message by texting "SPPD" and their tip to TIP-411.

The victim, a young adult man, died at the hospital. We will release his name later this morning once we have notified his family.

Police believe he was shot and drove a short distance before crashing into the home on 38th St. South.

St. Petersburg police are on the scene of a shooting investigation at 3800 38th St. S. One man was transported to the hospital.
