Shortly before 6 this morning, a 26 year old man broke into his girlfriend's apartment at 5877 Fairfield Avenue South. A family friend, a 48 year old man, confronted him. Shots were fired and the 26 year old man died at the scene. The 48 year old man suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

Two women and a child who were in the apt. were not injured
