Update on 02-01-20

A 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan driven by Mladen Kravarusic was traveling west on 79th Terrace North at a high rate of speed. For an unknown reason the driver drove through the rear parking lot, into the rear wall of Bealls Department Store, 7899 MLK St. N.

The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. No one inside the store was injured.

Investigation still continuing.

St. Petersburg police is investigating a fatal crash into the back of a shopping center at 7899 MLK St. N

At about 2:16 pm today, a minivan drove into the back of the Beall's department store.

The driver , an adult man, was the only one in the van and he died at the scene. No one else was injured inside the store.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash.

The Bealls store is closed due to the damage.

The identity of the driver will not be released until next of kin is located and notified.
