SPPD is investigating two home invasions that happened in the Historic Roser Park area on Saturday morning.

The suspect broke into a home in the 500 block of Roser Park Dr. and attacked a woman inside around 8:20am. He demanded she give him his car keys, and she did.

When the suspect got to the car and realized he could not drive it, because it had a manual transmission, he left and went to a second home in the 600 block of 10th Ave S. He broke in and used the homeowner’s sword to threaten a woman inside. After demanding her car keys he fled the area in her vehicle. Investigators believe the suspect is 38-year old Derrick Malone, and they are looking for him.

If you’ve seen him recently, or run into him, please call police, 727-893-7780.
