The suspect from today's bank robbery has been identified as Charles Combs (DOB 04/18/1969). Combs is facing two Attempt - Murder (in the Third Degree) charges, Fleeing and Eluding Police Officer (High Speed or Wanton Disregard), Leaving the Scene of a Crash (Involving Property Damage), Wreckless Driving With Property Damage or Injury, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and three Robbery (with a weapon) charges for the following cases:
The investigation into Combs involvement in these and other cases is still very active and the above-mentioned charges could change or additional charges could come later.

This is an ongoing investigation but here is the preliminary information.
About 10:50 this morning, a man robbed the Mid Florida Credit Union, 2646 4th St. N. He fled in a Toyota Corolla with an undisclosed amount of money.
An officer spotted the car and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect pointed a gun at the officer and did not stop. The officer followed and the suspect fired at least once at the officer. The bullet missed the officer and hit a work van that was passing in the area. No one was hurt.
The Toyota crashed on 22nd Avenue North near the I-275 ramp. It was a single vehicle crash and no other vehicles were involved. Police took the suspect into custody.
