Location: 6700 block of 4th Street North

At 5:23 p.m., a silver 2015 Ford F150, was driving northbound on 4th Street North when it drifted towards the east and left the roadway in the 6700 block. The truck struck an above ground water pipe, a PVC fence, an above ground Frontier Cable box, a second above ground water pipe, a small tree, the business sign for the El Patio Motel (6733 4th Street North), a Salvation Army clothing donation box and finally a City of St. Petersburg dumpster, before coming to rest. No other vehicle was involved.

The driver, a 51 year old man, was transported to Bayfront Health where he was pronounced dead. It is believed that he experienced a medical episode while driving,causing him to leave the roadway.
