Stabbing Investigation

Update on 04-21-20

At 2:02am SPPD received a call from the tenant at 3201 Burlington Ave N, concerning trouble he was having with an individual. He reported that he caught a woman who was visiting his apartment, doing drugs in his bathroom.

When officers arrived, they could hear a struggle inside, so they forced their way in and found the suspect, Tomeka Colin (DOB 05/13/1983), and the tenant who was suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim received first aid, but did not survive.

Colin was arrested and faces a 2nd degree murder charge.

SPPD is investigating the stabbing death of a man in the 3200 block of Burlington Ave N.

The suspect is in custody.
