The vIctim died at the hospital : Damien Wiggins Jr DOB 10/17/96

The investigation is considered a homicide and detectives continue to work to determine what happened and identify a suspect.

St. Petersburg Police are investigating a shooting.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday where a man was found with a gunshot wound . He was in the parking lot of a vacant business at 4611 Haines Road.

The 23 year old victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is underway and no other details will be released at this time.
