Incident: Serious Bodily Injury Crash
Location: 400-block 34th Street North
Date/Time of Incident: March 13, 2019, 22:38 hours
Brief Description of Incident:
A 1997 Honda sedan, being driven by Luis Gonzalez (H/M, 7/18/86), was traveling south on 34th Street North, in the median lane. A male pedestrian was crossing the roadway. The pedestrian was struck by the Honda and Gonzalez failed to stop to render aid and left the scene. Police officers were in the vicinity of the crash when it occurred and maintain visual of the vehicle. Gonzalez was apprehended by police a short time later. The pedestrian was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash. Gonzalez was arrested and transported to jail for leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injuries.
