The victim in Friday night’s crash has been identified as St. Petersburg resident, Ada C. Morphis (aka Ada C. Jones) DOB 04/07/1967. Charges have not been filed as of now, but the investigation is still active and charges may come at a later time.

Around 11:15pm on June 14th, 2019, a woman was crossing the street at 38th Avenue North and 34th St. N in the crosswalk.

A 2006 Nissan, driven by Meho Alisphic, was traveling westbound on 38th Avenue North through a green light, when the woman stepped in front of his car. Alisphic tried to stop, but couldn’t do so in time, and struck her.

The driver stayed at the scene.

The woman was transported to Bayfront Health St. Pete and pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

We are working to notify her next of kin as the investigation into this crash continues. As of now, the driver has not been charged.
