Tavirus Walters (DOB 04/06/1998) was arrested today for 3rd degree murder and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
He was the driver of a stolen white Infiniti sedan that hit and killed 26-year-old Phelexis Robinson on July 15, on MLK Street South near 34th Avenue South. He then abandoned the car a few blocks away.
He is charged with third degree murder and leaving the scene of a crash involving death, carrying a concealed firearm, and other warrants for his arrest.
At 3 p.m., Lt. Patrice Hubbard, head of the Traffic Section, will be available for media interviews at the new SPPD Headquarters building located at 1301 1st Ave N.
