December 20, 2019 at 11:49 PM , a 2015 Ford Mustang, driven by Gabriel Eguiguren. (DOB 04/29/2000) was southbound on 40th Street North and stopped at the stop sign at 38th Avenue North.

A 2016 Honda 1000RR motorcycle, driven by Michael Burroughs (DOB 04/05/1996), who had a passenger on the rear of the motorcycle, Mackenzie Leigey, (DOB 04/02/2000), were westbound on 38th Avenue North at a very high rate of speed.

Eguiguren attempted to cross 38th Avenue North and was struck on the left rear of his vehicle by the motorcycle.

Burroughs and Leigey were thrown from the motorcycle and sustained serious bodily injuries. Both were transported to Bayfront Health - St. Petersburg where they are being treated for their injuries.

This crash is still under investigation.
