Last week, a 15-year-old student (boy), at Richard L. Sanders School, threatened to “ shoot up the school” (referring to a different middle school) in a social media post. The comments were reported to school resource officers.
The student was arrested Friday evening, and is charged with making a written threat to conduct a mass shooting, a 2ND degree felony. ( F.S. 836.10)
The St. Petersburg Police Department takes all school threats very seriously for the safety of our students. Threatening comments/posts will always be investigated and result in serious consequences.
