At 7:15 p.m, man shot a woman in front of a home at 5242 6th St. S. , he left on foot and died of a self inflicted gunshot a few blocks away at Sunrise and 4th St S.

4th Street S remains closed from 50th -54th Avenue South for the investigation.

The two were in an on-again/off -again relationship.

The woman is in serious condition at Bayfront Health.

We will release names and ages as soon as we can contact family members for the deceased.

A woman was shot and critically injured in the 5200 block of 6th St. S. She was transported to the hospital.

A man was shot a short time later near 52nd Ave and 4th St S. He is deceased.

Investigations into both incidents are underway. These shootings do not appear to be connected to the shooting this afternoon.
