Update on 9-16-18

At 5:25 p.m.,  a 2016 Dodge Ram box truck, driven by Andriy Dorosh (03/19/1990, St Pete) was southbound on Park Street North in the median lane. 

A 2018 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Michael Aaron Baker (12/06/1987, St Pete) was northbound on Park Street North at a very high rate of speed. Baker leaned his motorcycle into the right hand turn, but lost control and slid into the southbound lanes, striking the front of the box truck in the 400 block of Park St. N.

Baker, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Bayfront Health St Pete in life threatening condition.  He was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.  The investigation is continuing.

St. Petersburg Police are investigating a fatal crash on Park St at 5th Avenue North.
A motorcycle collided with a Box truck. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital but passed away from his injuries. I have no other details on the motorcyclist and will update when I have more information.

The truck driver is cooperating with police. The roadways will be closed in all directions for the investigation for the next couple of hours.
