A fatal crash happened at the intersection of 30th Avenue South and 34th Street South at 6:18 p.m., Thursday, October 18.

A 2008 Toyota Prius, driven by Anthony Andrew Repeta (DOB 07/02/1934), was westbound on 30th Avenue South. He failed to yield from a stop sign and drove across 34th Street South.  He crossed into the path of a northbound 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Robert Darnell Jefferson (DOB 10/11/82).

 Jefferson unsuccessfully tried to avoid Repeta, but the front of the Taurus struck the driver's door of the Prius.

Repeta was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he was pronounced dead.  Impairment was not a factor for either driver and there are no pending criminal charges.
