On October 17th, around 5pm, a blue 2006 Hyundai Azera, driven by Margaret Finger (W/F, 06/10/1927) was traveling northbound through the Northeast Park Shopping Center located in the 100th block of 37th Avenue North. The car jumped a curb, entered the BB&T parking lot and jumped several more curbs before crashing into the southwest corner of the bank.
At this time, it is not known why the Hyundai accelerated.
The driver and her passenger (Kamla Ramsaroop B/F, 01/21/1944) were transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious injuries.

Just before 5pm, a car drove into the side of a bank at 182 37th Ave. N. Two women were in the car and both were transported to the hospital. I have no word on their injuries at this time.
No one inside the bank was hurt.
