St. Petersburg Police is proud to announce that it scored 100% in recent accreditation reviews by both international and state accreditation commissions. To mark this achievement, Mayor Rick Kriseman will join Chief Anthony Holloway at 1:30 p.m. to address employees in the basement meeting room. Then they'll hang the framed certificates in police headquarters today.
CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) is considered the gold standard of best policing practices. St. Pete PD achieved CALEA's Certificate of Advanced Meritorious Accreditation. We are now the longest CALEA accredited agency in Florida!
St. Petersburg Police also completed CFA's (Commission on Florida Accreditation) review and received Excelsior status. To achieve Excelsior status, an agency must be re-accredited five times (every three years) without issues. There are 164 CRA accredited agencies in Florida, and fewer than 30 have Excelsior status.
