Domestic violence has taken at least 11 lives in the Tampa Bay Area in the past week. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse) and the St. Petersburg Police Department are teaming up to address such incidences and provide resources for those who may be experiencing domestic issues.
With this in mind, Crimes Against Persons Commander, Major Shannon Halstead and CASA CEO, Lariana Forsythe are available to speak with the media at police headquarters on October 5th, 2018 between 9am and 12pm.
At your request, the two will discuss the new community resources being used to respond to domestic violence calls and how the public can recognize the often silent signs of abuse. Please call the Community Awareness Division at 727-893-7550 to schedule an interview.
