Marco Nicholas Murray (B/M 04/15/1981) was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm for the shooting death of Christina Veronica Rush. He was taken into custody yesterday in Plant City.

Rush died early yesterday morning after an altercation and shooting in the 1000 block of 15th Ave S.

The investigation into the shooting remains active.

The victim in this morning’s shooting has been identified as Christina Veronica Rush (W/F DOB 02/23/1991).

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death continues.

Neighbors heard an altercation and a gunshot in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue South, shortly before 1a.m.

When police arrived, they found a 27 year old woman had been shot in a backyard. They performed CPR until she was transported to the hospital, where she later died.

Investigators believe the victim knew her attacker.

No suspect is in custody at this time.
